We have a flowering shrub in our yard that produces the prettiest little white flowers. They are so dainty, and they remind me of vintage for some reason. I’d love to put a name to this plant, does anyone know what it is?

Beautiful, whatever they are!
It’s a Bridal Veil Spirea! We bought our first house from a Master Gardner. She had all of the plants labeled with both their English and Latin name. Once of which was a mammoth spirea in the back year. I used to love to snip a flowering twig here and there to bring inside because those delicate little flowers were just so pretty.
Thanks for identifying this pretty little flower for me! I have heard the name Spirea before but I guess I never knew what it looked like. How nice to have had all of your plants labeled for you by a Master Gardner – I’m usually fairly good identifying plants by their English name, but Latin, forget it 🙂 And by the way, they didn’t stay in bloom very long 😦
Such a bummer about the blooms! Honestly, I had to ask my mother to come over and help me week for the very first time because that garden was so overgrown and I couldn’t tell what was a weed and what was intentional. I didn’t find the labels until after we hacked it all back. 😉
It is a very dainty flower. Perfect for a Shabby Chic theme.
Are they fragrant? Mock orange, maybe? Not too sure. They’re pretty!
They do have a slightly sweet orange scent. When you are standing at the shrub it smells wonderful!
This is a spirea.I don’t know if that is spelled right. I have heard it called bridal veil spirea.
Thanks Nikki. I’ll do a little more research on the species 🙂
They are so very dainty. Searched online “tiny white flower” & well plenty came up without a name to it. Great challenge 😉 Let’s find that name!
I know! Flowers this pretty cannot remain nameless 🙂
