34 YEARS AGO A YOUNG UNIDENTIFIED GIRL WAS MURDERED AND HER BODY WAS DUMPED IN A CORNFIELD IN THE TOWN OF CALEDONIA, NY. THE CASE STILL REMAINS UNSOLVED.
I am about to share a true homicide cold-case with you. This post is considerably different from those that I normally write. If you get the least bit squeamish or uneasy with these type of stories than please just skip this post. I understand that stories like this one can make some people uncomfortable.
In 1982, I was a student of a law enforcement vocational program. As part of that program, our class was introduced to an unsolved murder of a young, unidentified girl, whose body was found shot and dumped in the nearby town of Caledonia, New York, on November 10, 1979.
And while it’s hard for me to believe, this week marks the 33rd year anniversary date of Jane Doe’s death.

Such a sad story, Eileen. Hard to believe that no one was missing her. Maybe the only person she had in this world was the one who murdered her. I hope this cold case will one day be resolved.
It breaks my heart to read cases like this, but I know that sharing them is the only way that justice can be served. Thank you for doing this Eileen!
Thank you very very much for sharing this Jane Doe story. Yes, while some may feel discomfort, it must be told again and again. Many persons know about someone in their lives who have vanished. I have been been working on 3 missing relatives in my lifetime, but do not know crime related none theless. Cold case events should linger.
