Panna Cotta is a sweet dessert that originated in Northern Italy.
It is a custard made with cooked cream and gelatin, instead of eggs. It can be molded, or served in a dish. The custard will firm after refrigerating. (I waited overnight before diving into the batch I made.)
Traditionally vanilla flavored, it can also be made with chocolate, espresso, or lemon too . Panna Cotta is often topped with fresh fruit, chocolate, caramel, or fruit sauces. It’s insanely delicious, and (surprisingly) simple to make.
