This weekend I spent zero time in the kitchen whipping up sweet confections. Feeling a bit guilty that I didn’t have a food post to share, I decided to share what I did find this weekend. The first picture is of a less than patient cow at an Amish Auction we stopped at. I think the expression the cow shares as it’s facing the wrath of my camera is priceless. As you can see there is a slight blurring in the photo because the cow didn’t want it’s picture taken. Imagine that!
I would have loved to take some pictures of the cute Amish children in their little straw hats but didn’t want to be too intrusive. I was already getting looks just taking a picture of the cow. While on the topic of the Amish, you can’t believe the food those people produce. Homemade pizza, soft pretzels, chicken BBQ, pulled pork, homemade ice cream, ripe, fresh-cut fruit, baked goods, and more… What we ate was delicious!
The next two pictures were taken standing in a field of sunflowers we found not to far from our home. As I trudged out through a field in my sandals to get some pictures I tried to keep my mind occupied on something other than the snakes I felt might be lurking nearby. Once in the patch of sunflowers I prayed the bees that buzzed furiously around the flowers wouldn’t notice me. Luckily, they were too engrossed in the flowers to be bothered by me.
Hope everyone had a great weekend!

That’s for sure Kristen! It’s a dirty job but we all have to do it – lol!
Oh the things we bloggers will do to get a good photo….brave snakes, bees, and dirty looks from cows. Sounds like you had quite a weekend!
These pictures brought a moment of brightness in an otherwise drab day. Thanks for sharing!
Glad I could give you a moment of brightness!
Gorgeous photos. Enjoy the sunshine.
Thanks Belinda!
aww looks like a great WE, nice to be outdoors before the weather gets cold!
May Ling Wu, You’re right it won’t be long and the weather will be cold 😦
I didn’t have a prezel because I was ready for lunch – Chicken BBQ – but, the pretzels looked out of this world. I’m sure yours are too Sommer!
Oh, I LOVE amish-made soft pretzels! I’ve made them plenty of times, but they never turn out quite as wonderful when I make them. It think they add some additive chemical! 😉
They are – aren’t they? They all had their backs to the sun.
The rows of sunflowers are strangely beautiful.
